So you've cut your hinges and given yourself the option of running doorless, now you just need to come up with a way to mount some mirrors to keep JOHN LAW off your case... well, here's how I took care of the problem.

First I made a paper template to fit the area just below the side of the windshield frame and traced the pattern onto a piece of 3/16" steel (the size of the steel depends on how sturdy you want them).

Next I measured a marked a line for the bend

I then placed the metal in the vise lining up the mark with the edge of the vise and proceeded to bend it over with a hammer.

Next I double checked the bracket against the mounting area

I then drilled the holes to attach it to the body as well as the hole for my mirror... I chose mirrors from a Honda 750 which I found very cheap on ebay. At this point, you'll want to silicone the back of the bracket before you mount it to prevent water leaks and rust.

While the mirrors don't offer as great a view as the stock ones, they are functional and they will keep the "boys in blue" off you! :D Laughing

Actually, I had made some brackets for Kyle. Did you get his mirrors and brackets or just one?

I'll have to see if he left the other bracket here... he moved out before we had a chance to mount the mirrors and when I asked him for my door mirrors back, I guess he just mounted one however he could to keep John Law away... apparently it worked! Laughing

that is a nice little set up there
you could use that (at 3/16) to mount just about any mirror you wanted
